Scrim and netting are up at the exit of the temple on Jungle Cruise in an attempt to prevent continuous damage from the boats on the Magic Kingdom attraction.

Jungle Cruise Temple Damage

The scrim can be seen on the inside of the temple, at the very end after the statues.

The scrim is along the lower part of the temple wall.

There are multiple pieces of scrim attached to the wall, dipping into the water.

After the scrim is the netting, covering steel beams on the exterior of the temple.

The netting is all the way around the temple exit, creating an archway.

The steel beams are visible on the left, where netting doesn’t cover them.

Reports indicate that the boats have been causing damage to the temple, and a piece was broken off. The scrim and netting are Disney’s current solution. However, our sources indicated that at this time, there is no plan to do anything more for prevention or repair.

In 2021 and 2022, Jungle Cruise was updated to be more culturally sensitive and diverse. These changes are now reflected on the menu of Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen.

In the temple, a potentially offensive monkey statue was replaced with a golden snake statue.
