There appears to be a leak underground at the exit of The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom, which is causing cobblestones to become loose and wobble when stepped on.
Underground Leak at Haunted Mansion
Over the past few months, Haunted Mansion Cast Members have noticed the cobblestones becoming loose.
When we checked over the area, we noticed small pools of water between the cobblestones, which are in rough shape. There are several cracks in the pavement.
Cast Members report water springs from the affected area, which has only gotten worse in recent weeks, leading them to believe there is a leak.
The Haunted Mansion is one of Disney’s most famous and popular rides, meaning this is a highly trafficked area. The pavement moves underfoot when people walk over it, which could be a safety hazard, especially for guests with difficulty walking or who use mobility devices.
Despite Cast Members being aware of the problem for some time now, it has yet to be permanently fixed.

The Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion has become one of Disney’s most iconic attractions since its opening at Disneyland in 1969 and on the opening day of Walt Disney World in 1971. A clone of the Walt Disney World attraction opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983. The ride serves as inspiration for Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris and Mystic Manor at Hong Kong Disneyland.
The Disneyland version of the attraction received a major addition in 2015 when the Hatbox Ghost, an original effect removed from the ride due to technical difficulties, was re-added.
The Hatbox Ghost is due to debut at the Magic Kingdom version of the Haunted Mansion in late November. The Hatbox Ghost will occupy the Endless Hallway in the Walt Disney World mansion. The ride was recently closed for refurbishment and reopened with a few updates, including a slightly updated look for Madame Leota.
Disneyland revealed this year that they would be expanding the grounds of their Haunted Mansion to include a new gift shop and gardens inspired by various Haunted Mansion characters. The “spirited metamorphosis” will take place in 2024.
ColourPop Cosmetics recently released a new makeup collection inspired by the live-action “Haunted Mansion” movie.
