The exteriors of Paradiso 37 and Rainforest Cafe at Disney Springs are both being refurbished, although the restaurants remain open during construction. We first noted work on Rainforest Cafe last month, and construction walls went up around Paradiso 37 around the same time.
Paradiso 37 Construction
The construction walls originally wrapped around the front right corner of Paradiso 37.
They stopped next to the patio.
When we checked on construction a few weeks later, the walls had been moved. One set of walls is now around the side of the building, leading to the nearby Sassagoula River Cruise dock.
The walls jut out into the sidewalk, but the dock is still open.
Another set of construction walls is now around the patio closest to The Edison. The walls are decorated with ads for Paradiso 37.
Paradiso 37 – Celebrate the Americas is a table-service restaurant with a “positive, fun and unifying environment where cultural diversity of all of the Americas is celebrated.”
Rainforest Cafe Construction
Meanwhile, the Rainforest Cafe volcano is being refurbished.
Scaffolding now completely covers the giant Rainforest Cafe signs on both sides of the volcano.
A platform runs around the center of the scaffolding, just below the signs, indicating this is where crews are working.
Scrim and construction walls are around the lower sections of scaffolding, keeping guests away.
A sign on the construction wall points guests to the Lava Lounge.
The scaffolding goes over the Lava Lounge entrance, but there’s a tunnel between construction walls and a large “We Are Open” sign.
The Rainforest Cafe volcano usually emits fire every few minutes, but this effect is of course turned off during construction work.
The refurbishment is likely a refresh of the signs and volcano façade.
Rainforest Cafe is a “tropical dining adventure” known for its highly themed interior featuring animal audio-animatronics in a rainforest environment. T-Rex Cafe at Disney Springs is a similar restaurant, also owned by Landry’s, with dinosaur theming.
Also under construction at Disney Springs are the brand-new Summer House on the Lake and EET by Maneet Chauhan restaurants, both scheduled to open later this year. The former will be on the West Side of Disney Springs, while the latter will be behind the Days of Christmas shop in the Marketplace.
