I’m on a Mission to Stay in a Moderate Hotel With My Value Resort Budget in Disney World

There are SO many options to choose from when deciding where to stay on property at Walt Disney World!

Coronado Spings

With the three tiers of hotels (value, moderate, and deluxe), you know that the higher the tier, the more amenities you’ll have at your resort, the “fancier” the hotel will be, AND the more EXPENSIVE too! We’re all about giving you ways to save a buck, so let’s go over some moderate hotels that you can get for those vale hotel prices!

This is our mission: To Stay in a Moderate Hotel With a Value Resort Budget in Disney World. So, let’s talk about it and go over the numbers!

Just to be clear, we’re trying to find the times the moderate hotels are very close to the same price as the value hotels (it might be during off-peak times, or possibly some are already similar value hotel prices just normally).

With that in mind, we searched four different times of the year, some off-peak, some not, and this is what we found:

For a 12/11/23-12/17/23 stay, we found these rates:

©Disney

  • Pop Century – $205.25 (FL rate) / $273.67 (Standard rate)
  • Coronado Springs – $244.07 (FL rate) / $348.67 (Standard rate)
  • Port Orleans Riverside – $248.03 (FL rate) / $354.33 (Standard rate)
  • Caribbean Beach – $288.50 (FL rate) / $384.67 (Standard rate)
  • Port Orleans French Quarter – $301.18 (FL rate) / $354.33 (Standard rate)
  • Art of Animation – $443.57 (FL rate) / $633.67 (Standard rate)

It’s interesting that Art of Animation was the MOST expensive option, ranging from about $150-200 more expensive than the other options.

For a 1/8/24-1/14/24 stay, we found these rates:

©Disney

  • Pop Century – $156.33 (FL rate) / $186.00 (Standard rate)
  • Coronado – $198.42 (FL rate) / $246.50 (Standard rate)
  • Port Orleans French Quarter – $216.92 (FL rate) / $269.83 (Standard rate)
  • Port Orleans Riverside – $216.92 (FL rate) / $269.83 (Standard rate)
  • Caribbean Beach – $263.55 (FL rate) / $275.17 (Standard rate)
  • Art of Animation – $396.50 (FL rate) / $473.33 (Standard rate)

Again, the Art of Animation was the MOST expensive option, ranging from about $150-200 more expensive than the other options.

For a 4/08/24-4/14/24 stay, these were the rates we found:

©Disney

  • Art of Animation – $208.67 per night
  • Pop Century – $224.83 per night
  • Caribbean Beach – $356 per night
  • Coronado – $337.33 per night
  • Port Orleans French Quarter – $362 per night
  • Port Orleans Riverside – $362 per night

This time, the Art of Animation was the LEAST expensive option. The Port Orleans resorts were the MOST expensive options ranging from about $100-150 more expensive than the other options. There’s currently no Florida resident discount available for these dates.

And for a 7/08/24-7/14/24 stay, this is what we were seeing:

©Disney

  • Pop Century – $236.00 per night
  • Coronado – $283.67 per night
  • Art of Animation – $284.33 per night
  • Port Orleans French Quarter – $302.00 per night
  • Port Orleans Riverside – $302.00 per night
  • Caribbean Beach – $306.00 per night.

(Those four moderates were the closest to AOA prices. Only about $20 more. Coronado was actually about $1 less. Once again, there is no Florida resident discount for these dates.)

This time, the Pop Century was the LEAST expensive option. Caribbean Beach was the MOST expensive option ranging from about $4-70 more expensive than the other options.

As you can see, if you want luxury but you’re also on a budget, then Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort might be the moderate resort to book!

Gran Destino Tower at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort

This resort is GORGEOUS — especially the Gran Destino Tower section of this hotel, which opened back in 2019.

Dig Site

Coronado Springs also has the biggest hot tub on Disney property! You can find it over at the Dig Site — a pool area themed around the Mayan ruins.

  • Pros: Dining options, only Moderate with a Club Level, large hot tub/Dig Site pool area
  • Cons: only Bus transportation, large resort

Coronado Springs has a LOT of dining and a lot of variety.

Dahlia Lounge

Despite being a bit far from everything, you can see the EPCOT AND Hollywood Studios fireworks from Gran Destino’s Dahlia Lounge.
