More than one year after the façade of Keystone Clothiers was initially damaged at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, another temporary visual repair to the area has been installed in the form of a patterned vinyl sticker.
Back in September 2022, something caused a large portion of the wall around the doorway to collapse, and construction walls went up weeks afterward, with seemingly no progress on repair for over a year.
Vinyl Sticker Added to Plywood Covering at Keystone Clothiers
We noticed the sticker while on a recent visit to Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Even from a distance, it’s noticeable that it is a sticker. The doorway to the store still has the same green plywood entrance that’s been there since September 2023.
Though the detail is better than the solid-painted plywood underneath, the sticker imitates the original design in pattern only; the texture clearly doesn’t match the remaining marble exterior. You can find it below the façade’s windows.
The coloring of the sticker, as well as the wood grain showing through the painted faux marble, is inconsistent with the marble to the sides and the remaining pieces of actual marble.
Keystone Clothiers Entrance
As you can see in these photos, this entrance doorway is now covered by muted sage green construction materials. The doorway reopened in September.
In the images above from September 2023, you can see the green-painted plywood under the window to the left of the door, which is now covered in a marble-patterned sticker.
Multiple panels of painted wood have been cut to somewhat create an art deco-style doorframe.
From the side, you can see that these are only temporary fixes, and are likely there to cover up the damage for the time being.
Do you think that the vinyl stickers and plywood are here to stay, or do you think a permanent repair is on the way? Let us know in the comments.
