Even in the Most Magical Place on Earth, things might not always go according to plan.
A ride might malfunction, the weather could put a damper on your day, and your hotel could even be evacuated. That’s exactly what happened to some folks at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort this morning!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort hotel was evacuated on the morning of October 25, 2023.
Fox 35 Orlando reports, “An employee was mixing two chemicals that should not have been mixed, the fire department said. The reaction caused employees to evacuate the kitchen while firefighters checked out the scene,” per the Reedy Creek Fire Department. No one was injured and “no guests were affected” per Fox 35 Orlando.
We hopped on the Monorail to see for ourselves and were able to get off at the Polynesian station. Things appeared normal by the time we arrived, as we were allowed to enter the hotel and walk around. There were other people walking around the resort, and Capt. Cook’s and Kona Cafe both appeared to be operating as normal.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on this situation as it develops and will let you know of any updates. Stay tuned to DFB for more.
