Should Every World Showcase Pavilion Have a Ride in Disney’s EPCOT?

When I was younger, EPCOT had a reputation for being a different park than it is now. Some might say ‘educational,’ others might say ‘boring,’ EPCOT had a focus that had less of the bells and whistles that could be found in the other Disney theme parks. Fast forward 30 years, and EPCOT has transformed into something else altogether. Not only is this still an educational experience, learning more about the world in which we live, but the gap has definitely been bridged, bringing that classic Disney pixie dust into each and every new attraction.

One of the sections that has come such a long way is the EPCOT World Showcase, which is home to four fabulous festivals held throughout the year. Part of what has created a more engaging atmosphere for younger audiences is the addition of new rides, shows, and dining options that cater to a wider variety of guests. In fact, some of the attractions, like Frozen Ever After and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, are now considered some of the most popular in the park. These two additions, in particular, have increased the popularity of the Norway and France pavilions.

Recently, when covering different aspects of World Showcase, I’ve started to wonder if each of the pavilions should have its own ride or more prominent attraction. Whether it is adding more 3D and 4D elements to some of the screening films or bringing in new interactive features, some of the pavilions feel like they are falling behind and not keeping up with the rising standard of the area.

What do you think? Should every World Showcase pavilion have its own ride or main attraction in EPCOT?
