76% of Disney Fans LOVE This Hotel Room Change

A lot has changed at Disney World hotels over the past few years.

Disney’s Pop Century Resort

So many hotels have been updated, and some are STILL under construction (Disney’s Polynesian Village and Grand Floridian Resorts, we’re looking at you). Many hotels also got brand new rooms, but they all had one thing in common: something was missing! So we decided to ask YOU, our DFB Readers, what you think of the rooms’ updated look.

That thing that’s missing in most new Disney World hotel rooms is…CARPET. Yep, Disney has swapped out carpet for hardwood floors in a lot of the new rooms across the resort. Now, we understand why this was done. First, it’s way easier to clean hardwood floors than carpet. Hardwood floors are also less likely to cause problems with allergens.

Now we’ve heard some people say they absolutely hate the new floors and miss the carpet. But we’ve also heard folks say they prefer the hardwood floors. So we decided to ask our readers what they thought — and honestly, the results surprised us!

Port Orleans — Riverside room

When we asked, “When staying in a Disney resort, do you prefer your hotel room with or without carpet?” Only 24% of our readers actually hate this change and prefer the carpeting. But a whopping 76% of you said you prefer the new rooms with NO carpeting.

Carpet or no carpet?

We know how hard change is sometimes, but this seems to be a change that a lot of people approve of!
