What started as an innocent office debate quickly turned into a passionate, heated contest. In fact, we couldn’t settle the debate on our own. So we brought in reinforcements. Over 3,000 reinforcements. With the help of our readers, our McDonald’s debacle was put to rest. A victor was crowned. Tears were shed. Let’s get into it.
Ba Da Ba Ba Bah…
Actually, let’s back up for a moment first. This all started when the new Disney 100th Anniversary Happy Meal collection first launched. McDonald’s announced that it would release 62 Disney-themed Happy Meal toys, and the obsessive Disney collector gene inside us decided to take this as a personal challenge to collect them all. So, we started ordering Happy Meals. Lots, and lots, and lots of Happy Meals. And it got us thinking: when you order McDonald’s, are you team cheeseburger or team chicken nuggets? From there, a debate was born.
It’s a simple question, yet the DFB team was divided. Several of our writers and reporters stood firmly in the Team Cheeseburger camp, while others fiercely defended Team Chicken Nuggets. We quickly realized this debate couldn’t be settled in-house. So we turned to our readers.
Happy Meal, anyone?
Here’s how it started. We took to Instagram and asked our readers: When ordering a Happy Meal, are you Team Cheeseburger or Team Chicken Nuggets? Four minutes into the poll, the results were leaning in favor of Team Chicken Nuggets.

But that lead didn’t last long. Team Cheeseburger managed to close the gap in no time. At this point, we were GLUED to our screens. How’s it gonna end?!
