The best part of the year is finally here!
Yep! It’s Christmas at Disney World! November 9th marked the very first day of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Disney World, and we were among the first group of folks to experience the celebration. While the food was great, and the merchandise was fun, we were really excited about getting to check out all the rides. Some of the rides get a special holiday overlay for the party, and we’re headed to check them out!
During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, five of the attractions in Magic Kingdom are transformed to take on a holly jolly experience!
Jungle Cruise
Jungle Cruise is the only attraction with an overlay that you’ll be able to FULLY experience during regular park hours as well as during the parties. The attraction takes on a merry overlay complete with jungle-inspired decor and Skippers adorned with Santa Hats. They call the overlay “Jingle Cruise.”
Details can be found throughout the queue, on the botes, and even in the puns the Skippers spew onboard. The Skippers actually undergo special training just for Jingle Cruise!
Tomorrowland Speedway
This ride is a mix of bumper cars and go carts and allows you to drive (assisted by a metal track that makes it really feel like bumper cars) around a track like you’re racing!
Throughout Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, you’ll see some fun Christmas decor like the trees shown above (which you’ll also see during the day, of course), and some special lighting at night!
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor
Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor is a family-friendly comedy show hosted by none other than Mike Wazowski. During Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the jokes take on a fun Christmas theme!
You’ll be able to hear a whole new set of jokes and celebrate the season along with your favorite monsters. There are also some fun projections!
Space Mountain
Space Mountain is home to some of the most famous holiday overlays. A fun, futuristic holiday song plays as you zip through the stars.
This year, you’ll get to see snowflake projections as you soar through space!
Mad Tea Party
Over in Fantasyland, Mad Tea Party will take you for a spin set to the 12 Days of Christmas song!
In the past, we’ve seen snowflake projections on the ground, but we didn’t see them on this night.
And there you have it! We’ll continue to keep you all updated with more Disney news, holiday stuff included. Make sure to follow along so that you never miss out!
