BREAKING: ‘Frozen 4’ May Be In the Works, According to Disney CEO Bob Iger

It’s a super exciting time for Frozen fans right now!

You can meet OAKEN!!!

We’re previewing the new Frozen-themed land at Hong Kong Disneyland and bringing you all the details about the gorgeous new area, but that’s not all the exciting news. Disney CEO Bob Iger just dropped a HUGE news bomb about the movie series!

So far, we have Frozen and Frozen II. Earlier this year, Disney announced that Frozen 3 is also in the works. Now, Bob Iger has confirmed that the third film won’t be the end of the series.

In an interview with Good Morning America on Thursday, November 16th, Iger said, “Well, I’ll give you a little surprise there, Michael. Frozen 3 is in the works and there might be a Frozen 4 in the works too.”

Iger went on to say, “I don’t have much to say about those films right now. But Jenn Lee, who created Frozen, the original Frozen and Frozen II, is hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories.”

Earlier this year, we heard that the Frozen and Frozen 2 director Jennifer Lee would not be returning to direct the third movie but would instead be involved in some kind of advisory or mentor role (The Wrap). About the third movie, Lee said, “I can’t say where we are [with Frozen 3]. All our stories are driven by the artists in the studio. Where we’re going with Frozen did not come from me. It came from an incredible person. That’s a new piece, I’ve told no one. And I’ve been blown away by it and I’m just having a blast with that team.”

However, Frozen and Frozen 2 songwriters Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez will be returning for the third movie. “It got us very excited,” Kristen said. “Now, we have to let the wheels of Hollywood do what they do, but we were very excited with their ideas.”

Elsa, you good?

Both of the first Frozen movies have been hugely successful for Disney, so much so that the company is opening up a Frozen-themed land in Hong Kong Disneyland. We’re at the new land right now, previewing the rides, restaurants, and characters that are all bringing Arendelle to life!

These are some pretty cool sleighs!

Iger was at Hong Kong Disneyland recently, too, for the land’s Grand Opening Ceremony. About the new land, Iger said, “For years at our Disney parks, we’ve been creating these large, immersive worlds. Essentially, they’re the physical embodiment of some of the greatest stories that we’ve told whether it’s Cars Land or Star Wars or Pandora, and of course Frozen, being our most valuable franchise, as you mentioned, a very successful film, I think it’s just ripe for basically, building the place that Frozen takes place in and it’s just a fantastic land that enables people to get immersed in the story of Frozen and interact with all the great characters for films.”

World of Frozen officially opens on November 20th.
