Don’t Waste Your Money on These Disney World Burgers

Listen, here at DFB, we know a thing or two about Disney World food.

Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater Eats

In fact, we’re pretty passionate about it. It’s kind of our whole thing. And this, dear DFB reader, is why we’re begging you, for the love of all things Disney, to please stop wasting your money on terrible burgers in the parks and hotels. Don’t worry — we’ll tell you where to eat instead.

Disney World has a lot of incredible things going for it, but if you ask us, some of the food can be a bit… lacking. Of course, we have our favorites and old standby meals and snacks we can’t get enough of, but there’s one area in particular where we think people tend to waste money: Burgers. Not all Disney World burgers are created equally, and we’re sharing which ones you should skip and which you should eat instead!

Our general rule of thumb is to skip burgers at most quick-service restaurants. We’re talking Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Backlot Express, Sunshine Seasons — you get the idea. There’s nothing inherently wrong with these burgers, but they’re just kind of… boring. If you’ve never had one, we’d compare them to something you might get at a sports game — they’re made to be churned out and aren’t too exciting overall.

But, not all hope is lost, as there are plenty of good burgers to be had in Disney World and we’ll tell you just where.

Smoked BBQ Pulled Pork Burger

First and foremost, we have to mention the Steakhouse 71 Stack Burger. You’ll find this restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and to be honest, it might be the best burger in Disney World.

The Stack Burger is a signature blend of beef, pork belly, American cheese, lemon aïoli, red onion, and house-made pickles, on a brioche bun. Sure, it sounds fancy, topped with pork belly (instead of bacon), some nifty citrusy mayonnaise, and pickles that didn’t come out of a jar.

The Kobe Beef Burger at Yak & Yeti in Animal Kingdom is also stellar. It comes topped with your choice of shiitake mushroom and scallion compote or Asian slaw, and served with sesame-soy mayonnaise and crispy fries on the side! This has been a staple on the menu, and it continues to deliver unique flavors for a more sophisticated burger palate.

For a good quick-service burger, head to Connections Eatery in EPCOT for the French Bistro Burger. This has a Gourmet Beef Blend, Caramelized Onions, Bacon, Brie, Mushrooms, and Dijon Mayonnaise, on a Toasted Brioche Bun. In this burger, the toppings really MAKE the dish. There’s enough going on to make things interesting without being overwhelming.

And, don’t forget the BBQ Burger from Regal Eagle Smokehouse in EPCOT, too. This one comes with garlic toast for buns! It’s a 1/3 lb Angus burger on garlic toast, topped with BBQ pork, garlic aïoli, and a fried onion ring. Are you hungry yet? We think we’ll have burgers for dinner!
