PHOTOS: Peppers Return to Native American Village at Magic Kingdom With Possible Connection to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Guests riding the Walt Disney World Railroad or Liberty Square Riverboat at Magic Kingdom get a view of a Native American village along the Rivers of America. Recently, new pepper props were added throughout the village. Peppers actually used to be in the village but were removed about a decade ago. The new props are a wider variety of peppers and may be connected to the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction.

From the Walt Disney World Railroad, red, green, and yellow peppers are visible hanging on a frame near the back of the village.

The green peppers can be hard to see from a distance but are mixed in with the other peppers.

On the other side of the village, as seen from the Liberty Square Riverboat, green and red peppers hang from a roof where two villagers are preparing food.

While the peppers on the railroad side look long and thin, these look more like bell peppers.

The peppers may seem like a minor update to the village but actually may connect back to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is set to open at Magic Kingdom in late 2024.

The new attraction’s backstory revolves around Tiana’s Foods, a co-op that Tiana established in 1927 after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” The co-op cultivates crops along the waters in an old salt mine. As revealed in February of this year, Tiana’s Foods products include a line of original hot sauces. The Tiana’s Foods Hot Sauce logo displays two red peppers.

The connection deepens with the recent addition of Tiana’s Foods posters to the construction walls around the future attraction.

Both posters feature the same types of peppers now displayed in the Native American village.

This poster also includes two bottles of hot sauce.

Seeing as the Native American village and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure are both in Frontierland, Imagineers may have added the peppers to create a purposeful connection between the two. Maybe the indigenous people and Tiana’s Foods workers are growing peppers along the same waters.

Whether the connection will be pointed out in the final Tiana’s Bayou Adventure story in the queue or on the ride remains to be seen. It’s possible the pepper props are just meant to create a subconscious association that enhances the story of Frontierland. Or, it could be a big coincidence.
