Disney Returns to X After 10-Day Break Due to Elon Musk Controversy

Multiple accounts associated with The Walt Disney Company have returned to posting X, formerly Twitter, after the company’s 10-day break from the platform.

Disney Resumes Posting on X

Disney Returns to X After Hiatus Due to Elon Musk Controversy

This shift comes after The New York Times reported that Disney, along with other notable companies like Apple and Paramount would be halting marketing on X in response to alleged antisemitic controversy surrounding the platform’s owner, Elon Musk.

Starting on Friday, November 17 (the same day the New York Times article was first reported), multiple X accounts associated with The Walt Disney Company, including @WaltDisneyCo, @DisneyParks, @Pixar, @MarvelStudios and @StarWars paused all posting. This was a drastic change, as all of the accounts had made regular, and often daily posts on the X platform prior to the 10-day break.

The pause came to an end on November 28 when the Disney Parks X account announced the opening date of World Celebration and the Walt the Dreamer statue.

it appears it is back to business as usual, as accounts related to Marvel, Star Wars and Disney Parks have all gone back to posting on X. It is worth noting that the company did not pause posting on other social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook during the 10-day window.

Are you glad to see Disney posting again on X? Do you use the social media platform regularly? Let us know in the comments.
