Mickey’s Car and Donald’s Boat keychains inspired by the real-life Toontown sets are now available at Tokyo Disney Resort. These keychains can be purchased through the Tokyo Disney Resort app or at Disney & Company in Tokyo Disneyland and Emporio in Tokyo DisneySea.
Toontown Mickey’s Car Keychain – ¥1,200
Mickey’s car is red, with a gold Mickey-shaped hood ornament and a striped seat. A red Mickey head charm also hangs from the keyring.
This keychain is approximately 12 centimeters long.
Mickey’s car is a photo op outside of Mickey’s house.
Donald Duck’s Boat Keychain – ¥1,200
Donald Duck’s boat has the same color scheme of blue, yellow, and white as the duck himself, with some brown and gold accents. A Daisy figurehead is on the front of the boat.
A blue Donald-shaped charm hangs from the keyring. This keychain is about 11 centimeters in length.
The keychain is a near-perfect re-creation of the real boat in Toontown.
The original version of Toontown opened as Mickey’s Birthdayland in 1988 at Magic Kingdom. It was later renamed Mickey’s Starland, Mickey’s Toyland, and then finally Mickey’s Toontown Fair in 1996. It closed in 2011 to be replaced with Storybook Circus.
Mickey’s Toontown opened at Disneyland in 1993 and at Tokyo Disneyland as simply “Toontown” in 1996. The latter was an almost exact copy of the Disneyland version. While the Disneyland version was reimagined earlier this year, Tokyo Disneyland remains the same, featuring Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Treehouse, Gadget’s Go Coaster, and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. Goofy’s Bounce House was re-themed to Goofy’s Paint ‘n’ Playhouse. It also includes Minnie’s Style Studio, which opened in 2020.
