When you decide on a Disney World hotel, how do you decide where to stay?
We’re sure you’ve seen plenty of our room tours and rankings of hotels in pretty much every category. We also usually keep you updated on what hotels might NOT be great places to stay at, at least temporarily due to things like construction. Maybe, though, you look at Yelp for reviews, and the TOP Disney World hotel on Yelp might surprise you. Spoiler alert: it’s Disney’s Riviera Resort. Well, we’ve stayed at the Riviera, so we’re going to give you a full room tour. Let’s go!
Disney’s Riviera Resort is a Deluxe Disney Vacation Club hotel inspired by Europe, particularly the Riviera (hence the name). You’ll find great dining here, as well as all the amenities that go with staying in a Disney World Deluxe hotel. The Riviera also has its own Skyliner station, meaning you have easy access to EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and other Skyliner hotels.
There are several types of rooms available at the Riviera. The Resort offers Deluxe Studios, One and Two-Bedroom Villas, Three-Bedroom Grand Villas, and a Tower Studio room. We’re taking a tour of a Tower Studio room that has one Queen-Size pull-down bed and sleeps up to two adults. OK, now, let’s head inside! Here’s a look at the front door. Now, this is a studio, so there isn’t going to be space for any “entryway” or hallway like you may see in other Disney World hotel rooms.
Right off the entrance, you’ll find a full-length mirror and a bathroom. Gotta get in an outfit check before heading out, right?
Across the way, you’ve got some cabinets and a microwave. Know what that means? You can heat up those leftovers as a little midnight snack!
Inside, the cabinets have some extra storage, pillows, and a blanket. You’ve also got a small fridge to keep your drinks cold.
Here’s another look at the room! The Studio room features a pull-down bed that doubles as a couch during the day. The blue ottomans slide across the floor, which makes it easy to move things around when it’s time for bed.
Of course, there’s a nice, big TV in the room, too, along with a table to keep your essentials. There’s also a pretty light fixture that brightens up the space.
To the left of the bed, you’ve also got a small desk area, a coffee maker, and a phone.
When the bed is all folded up, the room feels pretty spacious!
Now, the moment you’ve been waiting for…BED REVEAL! We LOVE that Peter Pan-inspired artwork above the headboard.
Moving on! Time to check out the bathroom. Now, when it comes to hotel bathrooms, we all have different preferences. Some people like having a tub so that they can give little ones a bath. Other people want ample counter space for cosmetics, hair, and skincare products. Some people prefer to have the sink outside the bathroom!
The bathroom in the Tower Studio is pretty large! It has a nice big mirror, plus a smaller mirror for makeup. There’s also a good amount of counter space.
We need to talk about the SHOWER. It’s got a fancy rainfall showerhead, gorgeous tile, and PLENTY of space! Yeah, we could get used to this.
Outside the bathroom is a small closet with all the typical closet essentials.
We also need to take a moment to appreciate the fun Disney-inspired artwork all around the hotel! Our room had this sweet print of the characters from The Aristocats.
We stayed on the bottom floor of the hotel, so we had a balcony with a STUNNING view; plus, we were within walking distance of the Skyliner!
This may not be the biggest room on property, but it’s a great option for couples looking for a beautiful room with great amenities.
So, if it’s luxury accommodations you want, with great food and easy access to one of Disney’s BEST transportation options, you can’t really go wrong with Disney’s Riviera. Yelp just might be onto something after all.
