While playing the new video game “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora,” we spotted a familiar piece of flora that visitors to Pandora — The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom might recognize.

We spotted the Flaska Reclinata by the Na’vi Camp in Stoneblade Ridge, located in the Woodsprite Arches area of the game. You can also find them in other locations throughout the map.

It was so exciting to spot this reference to Pandora — The World of Avatar in the game that we had to stop and take a quick photo, as seen above. Sadly, you could not interact with it as you can in the real-life land.

REVIEW: Initial Thoughts from Inside Pandora - The World of AVATAR at Disney's Animal Kingdom

The plant, present when guests first cross the bridge into the Valley of Mo’ara at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, plays an important role in “detoxifying the atmosphere” on the moon of Pandora by absorbing harmful gases into its plant body, where they dissolve into a pool of liquid, according to Avatar.com. When guests touch the plant enough, it sprays a mist of “spores and seeds” (read: water) out of its pink spout.

Prior to its appearance in Pandora — The World of Avatar, the Flaska Reclinata (also known as the “Baja Tickler”) was first seen in “James Cameron’s Avatar: The Game,” released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 in 2009, according to the Avatar Wiki.

“Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora” is a first-person, action-adventure video game set in the open world of the Western Frontier of Pandora. Players assume the role of a Na’vi abducted from their tribe as a child, and woken from cryosleep 15 years later to reconnect with their heritage and protect Pandora from the RDA. It’s available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Amazon Luna.
