Disney’s Animal Kingdom snack carts have been decorated with new artwork featuring various animals, including a banshee, a.k.a. ikran, from “Avatar.”
Animal Kingdom Snack Carts Artwork
We first spotted the artwork at this ice cream cart.
The artwork uses shades of green and white. The animals on the front include an elephant, an oryx (or similar antlered creature), a lion, a tiger, and a banshee.
The banshee, representing Pandora – The World of Avatar, is in the upper right corner.
The Tree of Life is depicted on the sides of the snack carts.
For reference, above is a 2020 photo of an Animal Kingdom snack cart. The old art was lighter shades of green and blue, with animals among plants.
Fictional, fantastical creatures have appeared on Disney’s Animal Kingdom artwork since the park’s opening in 1998. The park was originally set to include the land Beastly Kingdom, featuring mythological creatures, so signage included dragons to represent the land. Due to budget cuts, the land was delayed and ultimately never built.
Pandora – The World of Avatar opened at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2017, replacing Camp Minnie-Mickey. Its two rides are Avatar Flight of Passage and Na’vi River Journey. The new video game “Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora” includes a reference to Pandora — The World of Avatar.
