Say, “MICKEY!” Ride photos can be some of the best mementos of a trip to Walt Disney World. Not only do they make great souvenirs (who doesn’t want to relive those magical moments once you’re back at home?), but the finished product is often hilarious. Plus, if you know where to pose for the camera, they can also be a lot of fun to take.

To make your next on-ride photos at Disney World the best ones yet, read on for all the details on which attractions have them, where the cameras are located, how to view and buy them, and how much they cost. Where to Take Walt Disney World Ride Photos & Videos: Attractions & Camera Locations

Not all attractions at Walt Disney World have ride photos. In fact, there are only a few at each of the four theme parks with on-ride cameras. Attraction photos (and videos, too!) are usually offered on the most exciting rides in the park. Think roller coasters, water rides and other thrill rides—really any attractions with high speeds or a big drop. Or both! And that’s typically right where the cameras are located, too, in the thick of the action. That’s what makes for the best reactions, after all!

Of course, these aren’t hard and fast rules, and there are some exceptions. So, if you want to know where to look, keep reading for the locations of all the ride photos at Disney World, including each attraction’s camera location. Would you rather be surprised? Magic Kingdom

Tomorrowland

• Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin – On the right-hand side in the last room where riders face off with Emperor Zurg
• Space Mountain – Following the first tunnel (after the flashing blue lights) immediately before the very first turn
• TRON Lightcycle / Run – During the first launch, with cameras on both sides (video also taken)

Fantasyland

• Seven Dwarfs Mine Train – 2 locations: on the left-hand side after the first hill and on the left-hand side after the cave where the Seven Dwarfs are hard at work (video also taken)

Liberty Square

• Haunted Mansion – Inside the last haunted painting, a portrait of Medusa, at the end of the first hallway (the lightning is the flash)

Frontierland

• Tiana’s Bayou Adventure – During the big drop but before the splashdown (anticipated upon opening in late 2024)

Adventureland

• Pirates of the Caribbean – After passing a skeleton pirate at the helm of a ship, inside a skull and crossbones on the left-hand side

EPCOT

Future World

• Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind – Following the reverse launch when the ride vehicle turns around to face forward
• Test Track – On the right-hand side following the small hill during the outdoor acceleration

World Showcase

• Frozen Ever After – After seeing Marshmallow and the Snowgies during the drop

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Sunset Boulevard

• Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith – On the right-hand side during the initial high-speed launch

Linking Your Disney On-Ride Photos: Tap and Go or Let RFID Technology Do the Magic for You

If you’re anything like us, then one of your favorite things to do (after actually going on the rides, of course) is to see how your attraction photos turned out. So, how do you see and save your ride photos once you’ve taken them? That depends on which ride you just went on.

Most attractions—particularly older rides like Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin and the Tower of Terror—will have photo preview walls after you get off. Not only can you scope out your on-ride photo here, but you can also link it to your My Disney Experience account. Just look for the touchpoints with the outline of Mickey Mouse on them, then tap your Magic Band, Disney park ticket, annual pass or Disney PhotoPass card to send the attraction photo to the My Disney Experience app.

It is also possible to have your ride photos uploaded automatically, although we like using the touchpoints as a backup just in case. Because technology! These automagic uploads utilize Bluetooth and on-ride RFID technology to recognize your MagicBand or Disney MagicMobile Pass and send your attraction photos directly to the My Disney Experience app. In fact, for newer rides like Slinky Dog Dash and TRON Lightcycle / Run, this is actually the only way to get your images. To make sure your on-ride photos link successfully, all you need to do is ensure that you have Bluetooth technology enabled and keep your mobile device with you during the attraction. Sorry, ride photos cannot be automatically linked through an Apple Watch or other smart wearable.

How to View & Buy Your Disney PhotoPass Attraction Photos

Now that your on-ride photos are linked, there are a few different ways to view and buy them. Here are all of your options.

Viewing Options: My Disney Experience Account vs. Disney PhotoPass Locations

The easiest way to see your attraction photos, as well as any other Disney PhotoPass photos you’ve taken, is with your My Disney Experience account. This can be accessed through either the Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app. For the website, log into My Disney Experience, select My Photos from the My Disney Experience dropdown and then View Gallery. For the app, tap the hamburger icon in the bottom-right corner and scroll until you see Photos.

Your other option is to view and purchase your favorite ride photos from inside one of the parks or at Disney Springs. This can be done at one of the official Disney PhotoPass locations. Here, Disney PhotoPass photographers can scan your MagicBand, PhotoPass card, park admission card or Disney MagicMobile Pass to pull up your on-ride photos on a computer screen. This is also the place to go if one of your photos happens to be missing. By searching the specific location and approximate time you went on the ride, they should be able to track it down for you. Disney PhotoPass view station locations include:

• Town Square Theater on Main Street, USA in Magic Kingdom
• Pin Traders – Camera Center in World Celebration at EPCOT
• Sid Cahuenga’s One-of-a-Kind on Hollywood Boulevard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Prints, Packages and Freebies—Oh My!

Ready to take your Disney ride memories home with you? Along with individual prints for purchase at Disney PhotoPass view stations, you have a few different options for buying on-ride photos.

Memory Maker

If you plan to buy a lot of Disney PhotoPass photos (that includes ride photos, too) during your Walt Disney World vacation, your best option is Disney’s Memory Maker. Part of the Disney PhotoPass service, Memory Maker is a comprehensive photo package that includes unlimited digital downloads for any photos taken during your trip. You can choose between either Memory Maker One Day for $75, which covers a day of your choice, or a 30-day option for $185 when bought in advance or $210 if purchased during or after your visit. Memory Maker is available for purchase through either the My Disney Experience app or the Walt Disney World website.

Free Ride Photos and Videos with Disney Genie+

Planning to skip the lines and save time with Disney Genie+? (Genie+ is a paid service that lets guests make reservations for certain Disney attractions.) Well, you’re in luck because paying for Lightning Lane access to select attractions for the day means that you’ll save money on Disney ride photos, too! As of March 20, 2023, guests receive free digital downloads for any ride photos taken on days when they purchase Disney Genie+. Shorter lines and free ride photos? What’s not to like?

Annual Passholder Disney PhotoPass Downloads

Do you have a Walt Disney World annual pass or are you thinking about getting one? Consider adding Disney PhotoPass downloads for only $99 (plus tax) for the year. Similar to Memory Maker, this annual pass add-on comes with unlimited digital downloads—only, instead of just a day or 30 days, it includes any photos taken throughout the year.

Tips & Tricks for the Best Disney On-Ride Photo Ever

Ready to take your best Disney attraction photos yet? Here are some helpful hints (and friendly reminders) to make each and every on-ride photo a snap.

Know Where to Look

The easiest way to prepare for your photo is to know where the on-ride camera is located during the attraction. For thrill rides like Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror and, we’re guessing, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure (formerly Splash Mountain), the snap usually happens during the most exciting part. The high-speed launch, the drop, the splashdown. For other attractions like Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, Test Track, Pirates of the Caribbean and Space Mountain, however, the timing of the snaps can surprise you. Remember the on-ride camera positions above so you know to look at the designated spot when it’s your time to smile (or scream).

Don’t Just Sit There—Strike a Pose

While you could just say “cheese” and smile for the camera or hold up your arms in excitement, why not strike a more memorable pose instead? Throw up the “rock on” sign and stick out your tongue à la Kiss on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Look positively terrified in the Haunted Mansion. Some folks even go all out and bring along props like playing cards and even board games with the pieces glued in place. This can even be a great time for a surprise proposal! Imagine your love’s surprise when they see a sign asking them to marry you when you look at your on-ride photo after you get off the attraction.

Keep in Mind There May Be Strangers in Your Attraction Photos

Remember that, depending on the location of the camera and the design of the attraction vehicle, your group’s on-ride photo could very well be photobombed by other guests. For example, while the ride photo for the Haunted Mansion features only your Doom Buggy, the one at Test Track is of the whole car and Pirates of the Caribbean’s is of the entire boat. So, if you want to keep your photo free from strangers, try to choose your seats accordingly or plan to ride either early in the morning or later in the evening when most rides tend to be less busy.
