Welcome to Festival of the Arts season! We’re trying all of the new eats, drinks and letting you know what we think of them. We’re warning you, reading this may make you book a trip to EPCOT so you can take part in all of this festival goodness. We’re not liable for any decisions you make after reading this post — unless it’s a good decision, then we’ll take credit.
The 2024 EPCOT Festival of the Arts has officially begun and it has a LOT to offer. There are plenty of food studios with tasty items, shows and artistic performances to watch, souvenirs to grab (of course), and even an art-inspired food stroll to complete. But don’t let it overwhelm you — we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know. And now we’re heading to one spot in particular — Cuisine Classique — to give you the FULL scoop! Is it worth a try? Let’s find out!
Menu
Over at Cuisine Classique, you’ll find a variety of available items. All of these items are BRAND NEW this year (to this booth, at least)! This booth is returning after a hiatus, and we can’t wait to see what it has to offer. We have seen all of these menu items last year at Craftsman’s Courtyard — now it is time to see how they measure up.
Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!
Eats
First up, we grabbed the Beef Wellington. This item is made up of Mushroom duxelles, prosciutto, and puff pastry with red wine demi-glace. This costs $8.75. This is one of those dishes that we’ve heard a lot of people raving about, and we can say it lived up to the hype. Well, sort of?
The meat was a little hard to cut through, but it wasn’t hard to chew once we started eating it. The mushrooms inside are amazing, but the pastry was a little tough. The best part is the red wine demi-glace – y’all, we can’t EVEN because it is spectacular. When we just tried the Beef Wellington without, we were like “okay, it’s fine.” But the demi-glace takes it up a lot of notches. It adds sweet and savory flavors, moisture, and complexity.
Also, pro-tip, also drag the potatoes through the demi-glace, because YES. The potatoes are mashed to the perfect consistency and worked great with the green onions mixed in and the veggies on top.
Next up, we got the Cast Iron-roasted P.E.I. Mussels. This item is made up of mussels with sautéed tomatoes, garlic, and fresh herbs, and you can get it for $8.
The Mussels were perfectly cooked. The main flavors are garlic and red chili flake for just a bit of kick. These are worth trying if you love Mussels.
As we mentioned before, all of the food offerings are returning after being sold at Craftsman’s Courtyard last year. We enjoyed being able to find them at a booth that has returned after a hiatus!
Drinks
In terms of drinks at this booth, we got the Gulf Stream Brewing Company Sum of All Colors IPA. You can find this at this booth for $5.75 for 6 oz. and $9.75 for 12 oz.
Okay, well, the beer. Here’s our warning about this drink: We can’t say we’d recommend it to IPA drinkers.
The flavor reminded us more of like a stout or a really dark amber beer. It’s really robust, so if you’re looking for a more acidic, fruity IPA, this isn’t it. It’s still a good beer and the flavor is exciting and it’s something beer lovers should try. But again, this isn’t your typical IPA.
OVERALL
Overall, our experience at this booth was pretty good. The Beef Wellington is solid and a LOT of people are hyping it up, but ours wasn’t really that incredible. The beer was also good, but note that it’s not really a typical IPA, so there’s a word of warning. Overall, we’d say the food offerings here are solid, though.
That’s it for this booth, but there’s A LOT more where that came from!
