There’s a DIARRHEA RULE in Disney World, and We’re Begging You Not to Break It

Disney World has many rules, many of which make perfect sense for a theme park.

Mickey in Hollywood Studios!

However, Disney also some other ones you may not expect. Rules can change between the parks and Disney’s hotels, and we’re always here to help you navigate everything before your trip begins so you’re not caught off guard. Recently we saw a rule posted that we’re…frankly kind of worried that it had to be written out.

While we were walking around EPCOT, we stopped by the Liquid Layer Splash Pad, which is a small area in EPCOT that has some misters to keep you cool on hot days. It’s located right between Mission: SPACE and Test Track, and it seems that there’s a new rule that had to be written out to be clear.

Uh…

Yep, see that second to last rule? “Do not use fountain if you are ill with diarrhea.” That’s really not an image we wanted to have in our minds today. It’s also very ironic to us that the rule is listed for the splash pad named “liquid layer” — just us? Okay, moving on.

And to be PERFECTLY clear, if you’re sick with diarrhea on your Disney World vacation, we humbly suggest that you stay isolated in your room in case it’s something that can be contagious to other people. And yes, please ESPECIALLY don’t get in any bodies of water that other people swim in/interact with.

While getting sick before or during your Disney World trip is the worst (trust us, WE KNOW), it’s important to try your best to not spread germs to other people around the parks. If you find yourself sick on your trip and don’t feel well enough to leave your hotel room for a doctor’s visit, you can do virtual visits via AdventHealth, the official health partner of Disney World.

If you need medication after your virtual visit, it can even be delivered to your Disney World hotel! While missing out on Disney World fun is miserable, if your body needs rest, that’s what you should give it. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news.
