Monday, January 22, 2024, was the final day of operation for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: The Ride at Universal Studios Japan. Last summer, Universal Studios Japan announced that the ride would be closing permanently after 20 years of operation. The theme park celebrated the final months of the ride with “Final Campaign” Spider-Man merchandise and a farewell exhibit.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man 4K3D – The RideToday was the final day of our beloved Spider-man the Ride, which has been with us for 20 amazing years.
A big “thank you” for all the memories.
The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: The Ride opened at Universal Studios Japan on January 23, 2004. Other than a few differences in the queue and loading area (as well as being in Japanese instead of English), the ride is a copy of the Universal Islands of Adventure version that opened in 1999. It was the first major expansion of Universal Studios Japan after the park’s 2001 opening.

Universal Studios Japan has not announced a replacement for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. The nearby Terminator 2 3-D closed permanently in 2020, leaving a large parcel of space open in the park’s New York area.
