Let’s face it, with the amount of restaurants available to you at Disney World, choosing which ones to go to can be super overwhelming. But don’t worry — we’re here to help!
Disney World is home to some fantastic dining options and we’ve got you covered with which ones are worth your time (and which aren’t)! If you’re looking for the BEST restaurant to visit in 2024, we know just the place (and a few others) — Let’s check it out!
When it comes to picking the cream of the crop, we really don’t think you can go wrong with Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’: Florida Kitchen and Southern Shine at Disney Springs in 2024!
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’
Celebrity Chef Art Smith is a Florida native who actually participated in the Disney World College Program as a culinary intern and a Florida State University alum — so it only makes sense that his Homecomin’ restaurant celebrates Southern and Floridian cuisine as well as “farm-to-fork” food.
Serving the best comfort food in Disney World, you’ll find thigh-high High Chicken Biscuits, fried green tomatoes, shrimp & grits, and more at this restaurant. The menu is also FANTASTIC and even the pickiest of eaters should find something they like. We recommend getting reservations ASAP, however, as Homecomin’ is super popular.
If Southern comfort food isn’t quite your thing, we have some other recommendations as well!
Patriotic Eaters
Want to dig into those colonial roots? Liberty Tree Tavern at Magic Kingdom serves a prix fixe style Thanksgiving meal in a restaurant themed after a late-18th-century home. The meal is served family-style in rooms themed after the Revolutionary period and comes with all-you-can-eat roasted turkey, pot roast, oven-roasted pork, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, seasonal veggies, and herb stuffing. A signature Ooey Gooey Toffee Cake also comes with the meal and it is absolutely DELICIOUS!
Looking For Adventure
If you’re feeling adventurous, be sure to make your way over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Satu’li Canteen! Found in Pandora — The World of Avatar, this quick service spot is one of the BEST in all of Disney World and offers a truly unique menu. The Satu’li Canteen serves AMAZING steamed Pods (a bao bun twist on a burger) and a variety of customizable bowls. We are particularly fond of the shrimp bowl. Be sure to try one of the colorful drinks when you visit!
Feeling Tropical
Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is more than just a tropical-themed bar. It’s filled with all kinds of interactive elements and special effects that are synced to what you order as well as Cast Member antics. Filled head to toe with neat details, this lounge has some great tropical drinks, often in collectible cups. Food-wise, you can find solid snacks here such as flatbread and tacos. Keep in mind this bar becomes 21+ after 8PM.
The star here really is the atmosphere though, so bring some friends or family members, grab a spot (a virtual queue is often used because this spot can be very busy!), and enjoy. Just keep in mind that until 8PM, this restaurant is available to the whole family. Only 21 and over are allowed to visit after that.
For the Princess in Your Family
If you’re looking for quintessential character dining with true Disney theming, check out Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom in 2024! This dining experience is INSANELY popular and is available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Its prix fixe menus generally include dishes such as steamed mussels, beef tenderloin, and pasta. If you have a Disney Princess fan in the family (that includes you) and want to eat inside Cinderella’s Castle in a truly unique experience, visiting Cinderella’s Royal Table should be on your 2024 bucket list!
Theme Fanatics
Speaking of great theming, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention Be Our Guest at Magic Kingdom! Have you ever wanted to step into the world of Beauty and the Beast and eat inside the Beast’s castle? You’re in luck! You can dine in three different rooms — The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, and The Rose Gallery. As for the menu, it’s another prix fixe that includes French cuisine such as French onion soup, escargot, grilled filet mignon, and more! You may even see an appearance from the Beast and Belle! And be sure to try the “grey stuff”!
Sweet Tooth
The Cake Bake Shop at Disney World’s Boardwalk isn’t opened yet but is slated to open early this year. Owned by Gwendolyn Rogers, this The Cake Bake Shop will include both a table service restaurant and a bakery portion. The restaurant will offer brunch, lunch, and dinner with sweet and savory menus, as well as an afternoon tea experience. The bakery portion will act as more of a quick-service option with tons of baked goodies. Items you can expect to perhaps pop up on the menu include truffle pommes frites, quiche, sandwiches, cakes (of course), pies, cheesecake, and more!
There you have it! We definitely recommend visiting AT LEAST one of these restaurants this year and give us your review! In the meantime, be sure to stay tuned right here at DFB for all the latest Disney World news, tips, and reviews!
