The Disneyland Resort theme parks will be closing early again today, February 5, amid a state of emergency.
California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a State of Emergency over the severe storm affecting the southern region. It covers eight counties, including Orange County where Disneyland Resort is located.
The Anaheim area is under several wind and flood advisories due to an atmospheric river—a phenomenon where a large body of water vapor in the air becomes a large volume of rain and/or snow. According to PBS News, atmospheric rivers have, on average, twice the flow of the Amazon River.
Disneyland Park will now close at 8 p.m. this evening, rather than 10 p.m.
Disney California Adventure will also close at 8 p.m., having been previously slated to close at 9 p.m.
The parks closed early yesterday, February 4, as well.
