There’s a GROWN-UP Root Beer Float in Disney World (And It’s the Bomb, Y’all)

The Polite Pig is a quality counter-service restaurant at Disney Springs. This place serves up some of the tastiest barbecue dishes we’ve had at Walt Disney World…

NEW Drink from The Polite Pig!

…but what about their mixed drinks? Could they hold up to the high-calibered Sweet Potato Mash? We heard that the decadent bbq joint was mixing up something new lately. We headed over to see if the Root Beer Bourbon Cream Float was as good as it sounds!

In short, yes. Yes, it’s VERY good. It looks like a glorious grown-up root beer float and it tastes like a glorious grown-up root beer float. To create the creamy taste, root beer is mixed with Buffalo Trace Bourbon Cream. Order this drink and will make your dining neighbors jealous. Seriously! We had guests and servers asking us if it was as good as it looks!

Root Beer Bourbon Cream Float

Ok, it’s good, but why? Well, we weren’t expecting it to actually taste like a root beer float. Without ice cream, can you really claim it’s a root beer float? (That’s a philosophical question we can continue to ponder later.) The Bourbon Cream does taste creamy and sweet like someone added a bit of ice cream to your root beer. It simulated the taste quite well!

YUM.

That said, if you’re looking for a strong bourbon drink, you might ask for something else on the cocktail menu. We could taste a hint of alcohol, but it tasted mostly like cream and root beer to us. It’s a good choice for those of us who want just a little taste of bourbon in our soda.

Root Beer Bourbon Cream Float and Pork Rinds

The drink costs $11 and we discovered that it pairs nicely with the spicy and well-seasoned pork rinds and pimento cheese dip. Maybe you need a little sweetness to balance your hearty barbecue? This drink will do the trick!

See ALL the fall cocktails coming to Disney Springs this season!
