REVIEW: Savory Churros and Soda-Infused Cinnamon Rolls?! A NEW Snack Stand Is OPEN in Disney World!

There’s a NEW snack spot in Disney World!

Ice Cold Hydraulics

At Hollywood Studios, Ice Cold Hydraulics has officially opened in the Grand Avenue section of the park. We’ve been keeping an eye on its construction for several months, but now we’re excited to finally share a full review of the brand-new eats! Let’s dive in.

I stopped by Ice Cold Hydraulics on opening day, and it was already hopping! Currently, the snack stand is open from park open to park close, according to a Cast Member working there. No hours are listed on the website yet.

People were lined up outside!

The snack stand has two windows for ordering and picking up your food, and menus are posted above each of them.

On the menu, we’ve got some new snacks, as well as some classics like popcorn, Mickey Premium Bars, and cotton candy.

There are also some alcoholic beverage options…

…as well as sodas and non-alcoholic slushes. Let’s hope they’re as ice cold as the name promises!

Next to the snack stand is a brand-new seating area with a few outdoor tables. They’ve all got umbrellas, which will be nice on those sunny days.

Now it’s time to order! I grabbed both the new Candy Painted Cinnamon Rolls and the Bouncin’ Mini Churros, as well as a Minute Maid Lemonade Slush.

The full spread!

Let’s kick things off with the Candy Painted Cinnamon Rolls which are mini cinnamon rolls topped with Coca-Cola-infused glaze and candied nuts. They’re available for $8.99 and they’re a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan (which is actually a pretty good deal at that price!).

Hello cinnamon deliciousness!

They’re really cute and you get a decent portion, but ultimately they’re a bit disappointing. The rolls themselves were pretty dry, except in the very middle. The glaze is incredibly sticky and makes it a bit of a challenge to eat the cinnamon roll.

One of the rolls

There’s a slight smoky flavor to the cinnamon roll, but I had a hard time finding any hint of Coca-Cola in the glaze. The nuts added a nice crunch though, and there was definitely a good amount of cinnamon and sugar. They’re not the worst cinnamon rolls I’ve ever had in Disney World, but nowhere near the best either.

Inside the roll

Did the Bouncin’ Mini Churros perform any better? They’re also $8.99 (and a snack credit!) and they’re made with savory churros topped with Coca-Cola and bourbon candied bacon, sriracha aioli, and scallions. I was definitely intrigued by the description.

Bouncin’ Mini Churros

In my opinion, THIS is the snack to get at Ice Cold Hydraulics! The churros themselves were actually just regular mini churros — not savory on their own, and topped with cinnamon sugar — however, the toppings really make this snack unique. The bacon in particular added a delicious salty and savory element that I thought was really interesting. You definitely get a bit of the Coca-Cola and bourbon flavor coming through there.

They’ve got all kinds of toppings!

The scallion flavor was light because they were chopped up really tiny. The pieces on the top of the stack got more of the toppings, and those first few churros were a little heavy-handed on the aioli. It might be good to spread some of that sriracha sauce around so you get a little in each bite because it can be overwhelming at first. It wasn’t spicy at all.

Now that looks like a good one!

And last but not least, let’s talk about that Minute Maid Lemonade Slushy! This is available for $5.79 and it’s the same slush you can get at many places around the parks. It’s got a good balance of tart and sweet flavors, and it would be very refreshing on a hot day.

I tried to order the Blue Raspberry Fanta Slush at first, but the machine wasn’t working.

So what do I think of Ice Cold Hydraulics? This is a great place to stop if you need a light snack in the morning or you want something to tide you over mid-day. I would certainly go back again to get those mini churros and both of the new snacks would be great uses of snack credits for the Disney Dining Plan, since they’re on the pricier side. However, if you’re paying out of pocket, you could get a better cinnamon roll for cheaper elsewhere in Disney World (like the delicious one at Gaston’s Tavern in Magic Kingdom!).

We’ll be keeping an eye on Ice Cold Hydraulics to see if it continues to be popular in the coming days, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news and updates!
