The DynoGlide plane prop that was removed from Toy Story Land in Disney’s Hollywood Studios over two years ago has returned — but is still behind construction walls.
DynoGlide Plane in Toy Story Land
Construction began around the exit queue of Toy Story Mania in early 2022. This was in part to prepare for the opening of the new Jessie’s Trading Post store, but it was also reportedly to expand Woody’s Lunch Box seating.
In early 2023, a new structure went up between the exit queue and Woody’s Lunch Box. It has since been painted to look like packaging for a Cowboy Cookin’ Set. But the space is still behind walls, scrim, and fences.
When construction around the exit queue began, a DynoGlide airplane toy prop was removed. Peering through the scrim this week, we could see the plane again. It’s now located in front of the Cowboy Cookin’ Set building.
The plane isn’t easy to see through the scrim but, when compared to the original prop, it appears to be the same. See the prop as it appeared when Toy Story Land opened in 2018 below.
The plane sat in foliage with dice, letter blocks, and a toy soldier statue.
We could also see the rounded red nose of the plane poking over the construction walls from the current Woody’s Lunch Box seating area.
The other props that were removed may also return to this space. Hopefully, the return of this plane prop means we’re getting closer to an opening date for this expansion.
Meanwhile, green construction walls around the Toy Story Mania exit queue make a thin walkway in this section. A portion of the pavement is currently black instead of the dirt brown color of the rest of the sidewalk.
Disney announced this week that starting in June, Joy from “Inside Out” would begin meeting guests at Pixar Plaza located near Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
