Work is nearly complete around the new Cast building next to Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Construction is also underway where the new DVC cabins will be installed.
Cast Member Building Construction
Fencing covered in foliage-printed scrim still surrounds two sides of the new building. The building itself appears to be complete but crews are working on the sidewalks and flowerbeds around it.
Sprinklers and plants have been installed around the building, partially obscuring it from guest view.
More fencing has come down from near the bus stop at the end of the sidewalk.
The parking lot across from the bus stop is for Cast Members.
Traffic cones and other construction materials have been cleared from around the road. But there are still plastic barriers on the right and fencing on the left.
Cabin Construction
As we previously reported, there’s a single green plastic barrier blocking a driveway at the 2200 block of cabins. Yellow traffic cones outline the future site of a new cabin. There hasn’t been any change here since our last report.
There is significant construction underway at the 2500 loop, however. We previously saw Cast Members surveying this area. Now there are trucks parked on the side of the road.
We saw crew members working around one of the old log-style cabins.
A railing has been removed from this cabin’s patio, which was disconnected from the cabin.
The log cabins were elevated on concrete blocks, ready for removal.
Some of the resort’s old log cabins are being sold on Facebook. For an idea of what they looked like inside, check out our 2020 tour of a cabin.
An excavator was on site to clear dirt.
Temporary fencing blocked the roads and sidewalks leading to these cabins.
