Hulu on Disney+ launched on Wednesday, meaning Hulu titles are now integrated into the latter as recommendations.

With the launch, the Disney+ logo has been updated with an “aurora” color scheme blending the blue of Disney+ with the green of Hulu. Disney+ also has a new “mnemonic” audio mark created by Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson.
The ultimate goal of the integration is “Engagement, retention and happy, happy subscribers.” A beta version of the integration launched in December. During testing, Hulu content was in its own hub on Disney+. Now users will see Hulu content in various Disney+ collections.
What’s thrilling about the full launch of Hulu on Disney+ is we’re reducing friction for Bundle subscribers. During the beta, the Hulu content was purposefully isolated to the Hulu Hub, but now it will be fully integrated into Bundle subscribers’ homepages.
Joe Earley, president of direct-to-consumer for Disney Entertainment
The integration will remind users who are subscribed to both Hulu and Disney+ of the full breadth of content they can access.
It will also encourage users who have only subscribed to Disney+ to subscribe to Hulu. They will see Hulu content on Disney+ but won’t be able to watch it without a new subscription. Bundle plans with access to both Hulu and Disney+ are $9.99/month with ads or $19.99/month without ads.
It’s going to be exciting for titles like “The Bear,” “Shōgun,” and “Only Murders in the Building.” During the beta, we saw these titles performing really well with subscribers who typically had been watching more Disney+ content. I can only imagine what’s going to happen now with increased discoverability and integration on the homepage.
Joe Earley
According to Earley, during the beta period, engagement exceeded expectations, including increases in total hours viewed per subscriber and the number of titles watched. Subscribers have also created more than 5 million secondary profiles.
We know that consumers want ‘kid time,’ ‘we time,’ and ‘me time.’ Hulu on Disney+ now offers all of that and gives viewers options for their experience with parental controls and content settings.

Aaron LaBerge, President and CTO of Disney Entertainment & ESPN said, “[T]his launch represents the most extensive technical advancement to Disney+ and our streaming platform since we launched Disney+ over four years ago.”
