In honor of Star Wars Day (May the 4th) and the upcoming 25th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode I — The Phantom Menace,” Dok-Ondar’s Den of Antiquities at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios is selling the new limited edition Sith Apprentice: Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber hilt set.
Limited Edition Sith Apprentice: Darth Maul Legacy Lightsaber Hilt with Collector’s Box Set – $400
The collector’s box is black with red designs inspired by Darth Maul’s facial markings. His face is on the center of the lid. The box is distressed to appear old and worn.
The Aurebesh on the side of the box translates to “At last, we will have revenge.” Maul says this to Darth Sidious in “The Phantom Menace.”
The Legacy Lightsaber set has a limited edition size of 7,000. It includes a themed card with the edition number and another Darth Maul quote: “Fear attracts the fearful, the strong, the weak, the innocent, the corrupt. Fear, fear is my ally.”
Darth Maul famously has a double-bladed lightsaber. The long double hilt is silver metal with conical emitters. It will illuminate two blades (sold separately) in red.
A switch inside the box lights up the edge of the interior red. It also plays a segment of “Duel of the Fates,” the musical theme composed by John Williams that plays during the climactic lightsaber battle of “The Phantom Menace” between Maul, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.
The legacy lightsaber hilt will also be available at Disneyland Resort and on Disney Store.
Darth Maul first appeared in “The Phantom Menace.” He went on to be a major character in “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” and “Star Wars Rebels.” He had a cameo appearance in “Solo.” He’s starred in his own comics and books.
More new merchandise honoring the 25th anniversary of “The Phantom Menace” is also available at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
