Beat Builders Now Performing at CityWalk While Usual Stage is Down in Universal Studios Florida

The Beat Builders at Universal Orlando Resort have taken up residence on a new stage in CityWalk, far from their normal home in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida.

Beat Builders Now Performing in Universal CityWalk

You may be accustomed to seeing the group performing on scaffolding near Louie’s Italian Restaurant, putting guests into an upbeat, excited, and engaging New York state of mind. Today, the building outside Louie’s doesn’t have their signature trash cans, tools, or scaffolding.

People walk past a historic-style building with large windows, alongside a restaurant at CityWalk. Construction barriers and orange cones are present in front of the building as Beat Builders relocate their tools. The sky is clear with a few clouds.

Below is a photo during a holiday performance showing where the Beat Builders would normally be, with the performers fully engaged in an intense display of their construction crew cadence.

Workers in orange safety vests and helmets are on a stage of scaffolding, decorating a multi-story building with wreaths and festive lights. The ornate architecture of the facade stands out, reminiscent of the artistry seen in Beat Builders performances at CityWalk.

The percussion quartet appears to have a new home, at least for the time being, at the bottom of the stairs in CityWalk Orlando, meaning guests don’t need park admission to enjoy the percussive chops of the group.

A stage setup with patriotic red, white, and blue bunting and flags features four performers from Beat Builders in yellow uniforms using saws on large logs. The CityWalk Stage backdrop showcases a multilevel building with signage reading "ESCAPE INTO THE MOVIES.

Reportedly, their usual set is under refurbishment, which is why the group is performing in CityWalk.

Who Are the Beat Builders?

The Beat Builders are a quartet of construction workers who use improvisational instruments like wrenches, buckets, and whatever tools are on hand to entertain guests, typically with six shows daily at 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

It appears today’s schedule is slightly modified. The location has not yet been updated on the Universal Orlando Resort app.

Universal has not made an announcement about the new performance location, nor is it clear if the showtimes have changed or will change permanently. For the time being, we will enjoy their patriotic percussive performances for the 4th of July holiday and continue to monitor the show.
