We Have Good News and Bad News About Disney’s 4th of July Genie+ Prices

It’s the 4th of July in Disney World — and you know what that means. It means everything is getting a patriotic makeover today.

You’ll see red, white, and blue decor all along Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom. You’ll also see some fun 4th of July treats popping up all over the parks and hotels (pro tip: DON’T GET THE FUNNEL CAKE). The 4th of July fireworks show premiered last night with one final performance tonight in Magic Kingdom. Oh, and the CROWDS have arrived, which might make you think the price of Genie+ would go up today, but guess what? It didn’t!

As you may know, the price of Genie+, Disney’s paid skip-the-line service, fluctuates depending on demand, which is what we call surge pricing. So when the parks are at their busiest, the price of Genie+ tends to go up. The price is also dependent on which park you buy it for or if you buy it for all four parks. Today, July 4th, the price of Genie+ is the same as it was yesterday:

This price has been the same since June 27th, so it hasn’t really fluctuated at all since then. The highest price we’ve ever seen for Genie+ is $39 per day per person, so this isn’t the HIGHEST demand we’ve seen for the service. You’ll be able to view the current day’s pricing on the My Disney Experience app.

The price for Individual Lightning Lane (Disney’s pay-per-ride service) today is as follows:

The Individual Lightning Lane option for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom was already sold out first thing in the morning. The ride was also temporarily closed earlier this morning but has since reopened. The only way left to ride it today is through the virtual queue — the second opportunity to grab a spot in the virtual queue opens at 1PM (but it will probably go quickly).

Note that Genie+ will change on July 24th. Genie+ will be renamed Lightning Lane Multi Pass, while Individual Lightning Lane will become Lightning Lane Single Pass. The new services will also allow you to book Lightning Lane selections in advance of your trip: 7 days early if you’re staying at a Disney World hotel and three days for everyone else. We have the full details about how the changes will work, and we’re planning to answer ALL your questions when the changes go live.
