Disney Workers Rising announced today on X (formerly Twitter) that a tentative agreement has been reached between Disney and Disneyland Cast Members.
Tentative Disneyland Cast Member Contract Agreement
Last week, 99% of Cast Members represented by the Disney Workers Rising union organization voted to authorize a strike over unfair labor practices. Now, three months to the day after Disney Workers Rising entered into negotiations with Disney, a tentative agreement between the two parties has been reached.
In a thread on X, the union commended the hard work of everyone, especially during the rally and Unfair Labor Practice vote last week. They then went on to outline the terms of the three-year contract.
The contract ensures that all Cast Members will receive “significant wage increases,” wage increases for seniority, and additional premiums. Cast Members will also be able to retain premiums. Additionally, the attendance policy has been negotiated to work more favorably for Cast Members.
Disney Workers Rising went on to say:
We stood up to the company’s unfair labor practices and showed them that we were willing to do whatever it took to get the contract we deserved. Our solidarity and victory today sends a message to workers everywhere – when we fight, we win.
This is a tentative agreement that will be voted on by members of the union on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 6:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. The exact location of the vote is yet to be determined.
