New Steel Supports Erected During Test Track Reimagining

Test Track at EPCOT is closed for its second big reimagining and there are more signs of construction visible outside the attraction.

Since our last Test Track construction update, crews have installed new steel support structures under the exterior coaster track. In the above photo, two of these towers are visible near the ride entrance. They’re behind a support made of three slanted silver poles.

We spotted another new structure further along the track that circles the building. Paneling was previously removed from the underside of the track. But new or refurbished panels will return, as seen in concept art further down in this article.

From the ground, we got a closer look at the towers, which appear to be attached to the remaining panels around the track. They may become new supports, replacing the current slanted beams.

The large canopy in front of the ride entrance will be removed, as seen in this concept art. A new round overhang will be constructed, as will a new Test Track Presented by Chevrolet sign.

Test Track replaced World of Motion, an opening-day EPCOT attraction, in 1998. Its first reimagining was in 2012 and is known as Test Track 2.0. Disney announced Test Track 3.0 last year, stating it will take inspiration from World of Motion.
