EPCOT Logo Flags Missing From Entrance Plaza

The EPCOT logo flags are currently missing from the entrance plaza in front of Spaceship Earth. The logo flags were first installed in March 2021 but replaced soon after with updated designs.

A large crowd gathers in front of the iconic geodesic sphere at a theme park, under a blue sky with scattered clouds.

On Wednesday morning, none of the flags were flying, leaving the 12 flagpoles empty. It’s possible the flags were removed due to Hurricane Debby, which hit North Florida earlier this week. At the time, Walt Disney World was under a tornado warning and experienced heavy rain.

Several tall, empty flagpoles stand against a blue sky with scattered clouds, surrounded by trees.

Some of the flags could have been damaged and all were removed for a balanced look while they are replaced.

The flags represent the different pavilions of EPCOT, inspired by similar logos introduced when the park opened in 1982. The new logos were introduced in 2019 at the start of the EPCOT reimagining.

Each flag is white with a circular logo in the center and a brightly-colored stripe on the side featuring the EPCOT wordmark. The flags pictured above represent Spaceship Earth, The Seas With Nemo & Friends, The Land, Odyssey Pavilion, Journey of Water Inspired by “Moana,” and World Showcase.

These flags represent Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Test Track, World Celebration, Mission: SPACE, Play! Pavilion, and Imagination! Pavilion. The Play! Pavilion was reportedly canceled despite still being featured on a flag. We’ll see if the Play! logo returns with the rest of the flags.
