Mickey’s of Glendale D23 Merch to Include ‘Sorcerer’s Apprentice’ and The Muppets

Ahead of D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event this weekend, the Disney Parks Blog has previewed some of the merchandise that will be available from Mickey’s of Glendale, the Walt Disney Imagineering store.

This collection takes inspiration from Walt Disney’s “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.” For the designs, Imagineers “infused the whimsy and vibrancy of the classic comic.”

Discover the Imagineer Spotlight Collection

Another collection that will be available at Mickey’s of Glendale is the Imagineer Spotlight collection, which will feature designs from seven Imagineers inspired by their projects across a variety of products.

One Imagineer who participated in the collection is Lead Concept Designer Mike Quinn. His design for the collection draws inspiration from his work on Fantasy Springs at Tokyo DisneySea. Quinn’s work spans the globe and covers a variety of mediums, including visual effects, animation, motion graphics, and illustration.

“The opportunity to play a part in the creation of Fantasy Springs has been a highlight of my Imagineering journey,” shared Mike. “The enchantment and delight of this captivating new port provide the inspiration for this collection.”

Fans of The Muppets will be able to snag an exclusive artwork celebrating the studio’s 70th anniversary with a tribute to “The Muppet Movie,” designed by producer Dani Iglesias.

Iglesias has worn many hats during her time at Disney, including concierge hostess at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort and communications specialist for Disney’s Animal Kingdom. She became an Imagineer in 2018 and contributed to the design strategy for projects like Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and the Society of Explorers and Adventurers. She is now a producer for The Muppets Studio and leads creative efforts for merchandise illustration, character and brand positioning, and new project development.
