New Monstropolis Float & Tokyo DisneySea-Themed Utundu Chicken Available for Halloween Time at Disneyland

As invited media, Disney provided WDWNT with a gift card for food and beverages, so some of the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.

There are two new Halloween treats available at The Tropical Hideaway in Disneyland: Utundu Chicken and Monstropolis Float.

A menu board featuring two food items: Monstropolis Float priced at $9.29, with layers of pineapple-mango Dole whip, and Utundu Chicken priced at $10.99, consisting of fried chicken thighs and accompaniments.

This modest Halloween menu is available through November 13.

Utundu Chicken – $10.99

Fried chicken thighs, shishito peppers, harissa aïoli, and a lime wedge

The name of this dish comes from Shiriki Utundu, the cursed idol of Tokyo DisneySea’s Tower of Terror. The ride and quick-service location also both connect to the Society of Adventurers and Explorers (S.E.A.).

A hand holds a small square dish containing fried food pieces with a lime wedge, a green chili, and a small container of dipping sauce. In the background, people are seated at a table.

So the name of this dish has a fun history but what about the taste? Well the chicken itself is low quality. It kind of tastes like Costco chicken tenders. However, the breading and aïoli are flavorful and delicious. They make up for the bad chicken. It’s a small portion for the price of $10.99.

Monstropolis Float – $9.29

Ube-dusted DOLE Whip Pineapple and Mango with passion fruit coconut juice and lychee fruit

A hand holds a green and yellow swirl soft-serve ice cream topped with two lychees and garnished with a leaf, with a blurred background of outdoor seating and people.

We had the menu card in front of us the entire time and still couldn’t identify any flavors in this except Ube. The green stuff, which is supposed to be coconut, is completely flavorless. Everything else is masked by DOLE Whip. Just get a regular float — it’s cheaper and tastes the same.
