The 7 Best AND Worst 2024 Halloween Food and Drinks at Disneyland Resort

As invited media, Disney provided WDWNT with a gift card for food and beverages, so some of the following coverage was hosted. As always, WDWNT will still provide our honest thoughts on all below.

From cold brews to churros and back to cold brews, we’ve compiled the 7 worst and 7 best Halloween menu items available at Disneyland Resort this year.

The Worst 7

#7 – Pumpkin Cold Brew (The Sketch Pad Cafe)

The first cold brew on our list is available at Pixar Place Hotel. It had more of a ginger flavor than pumpkin and was one of the worst coffees we’ve ever had. Thankfully, you’re only likely to stumble into buying it if you’re staying at the hotel.

#6 – Enchanted Pumpkin Stuff (Red Rose Taverne)

This twist on the classic “Grey Stuff” is cute but unfortunately gross. The pumpkin mousse is fine but the cookie base had a harsh spice note and the cake inside was basic.

#5 – Groom Churro (New Orleans Square Churro Cart)

Groom Churro Critter Country Limited Time for Haunted Mansion 50th Anniversary Disneyland Park

This churro features an unfortunately bland combination of dark and milk chocolate sugar. Go for the Bride Churro instead. We rate that one a 6/7.

#4 – Monstropolis Float (Tropical Hideaway)

We had the menu in front of us the entire time we ate this and still couldn’t identify any flavors except Ube. There was no taste of coconut.

#3 – Green Apple Churro (Tomorrowland Churro Cart)

Though supposedly covered in green apple sugar, the Green Apple Churro just tastes like a normal churro. And while we like normal churros, we would rather get one of them than waste our money on a green version pretending to be a Halloween food item.

#2 – Tangy Apple Mickey-shaped Beignets (Mint Julep Bar)

Like the Green Apple Churro, these beignets take second place not for poor flavor but for lack of any flavor at all. We didn’t taste any apple. Save your money and get regular beignets for 50 cents cheaper.

Ironically, the caramel dipping sauce available at Mint Julep Bar and the Tomorrowland Churro Cart is a 7/7 in our books.

#1 – Caramel Apple Cold Brew (Cafe Daisy)

When we reviewed this cold brew, we said it was one of the worst Halloween menu items of the year. Well, after trying everything, we’ve decided it’s the worst. Though it looks good, the coffee is aggressively bitter and the flavors don’t play together at all.

The Best 7

#7 – Chipotle Chicken Drumstick Box with Slaw (Poultry Palace)

We had so many 7/7s this year that it was hard to narrow them down. These chicken wings have crispy exteriors and juicy centers, and the spices are so good. The only reason we’re ranking it the lowest of our top seven is because it’s a little expensive ($11.84) for just three wings.

#6 – Embers con Queso (Refreshment Corner)

This treat is basic but that’s part of what makes it good. Flamin’ Hot Cheetos are topped with classic nacho cheese and sliced jalapeños. What’s there to complain about? Plus, it’s relatively cheap at just $5.29.

#5 – Philly Potato Dog (Refreshment Corner)

Also at Refreshment Corner is the Philly Potato Dog, which one Disneyland chef told us was her favorite item this year. The baked potato acts as a hot dog bun, and there is meat, peppers, and cheese piled on top. Every bite was amazing.

#4 – Peanut Butter-Chocolate Churro (Cozy Cone Motel 1)

Another chef told us this churro was his favorite Halloween item at Disney California Adventure. It’s fresh, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and has perfect flavors. The chocolate and peanut butter flavors balance each other out perfectly.

#3 – Fantasyland Garlic Cheesy Brat (Edelweiss Snacks)

We wish this was available year-round. The cheesy garlic pretzel bread is great on its own. The bratwurst turns it into an awesome entree.

#2 – Peanut Butter Cold Brew (Cappuccino Cart)

Maybe this is cheating slightly because there are technically two versions of this cold brew, a mocktail and a cocktail. They’re both excellent, but we preferred the cocktail. Both versions have a rich peanut butter flavor complemented by coffee. The mocktail is topped with M&Ms, which is perfect for kids. The cocktail’s Skrewball whiskey plays well with the other flavors in the beverage.

#1 – Asian-inspired Spicy Pork Tacos (Studio Catering Co. & Hollywood Lounge)

This is one of the best food items we’ve ever had from Disneyland Resort. The pork is tender and flavorful. The slaw is tangy. We would give this an 8/7 if we could.
