Why You Should Wait Until October to Book Holiday Travel This Year

While it is only September, the time to plan for the holiday season is fast approaching. There is so much to see and do in Disney World for the holidays including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, Disney Jollywood Nights, and the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays.

The holidays are approaching fast and you may find yourself needing to book a flight. There are lots of things to consider when booking a flight, but a huge factor for most people is the price. Purchasing your plane tickets at the right time can help you save money on your trip. That means more money for food or souvenirs!

According to Google, booking your holiday travel at certain times will provide you with the cheapest options. Historically for Thanksgiving, flight prices have been the lowest 45 days before departure with a range of 26 to 59 days out. That means that you will want to start looking for flights in early October for the lowest fares.

For Christmas, ticket prices are the lowest around 58 days before departure, with a range of 36 to 72 days out. For the best flight prices, you will want to start looking into flights for Christmastime towards the end of October.

However, if your holiday travels are taking you on an international flight, you should plan to book your flight as early as possible. The low price range for international flights is anytime 50 days or more before departure. You won’t see any significant decrease in flight prices if you wait until closer. In fact, prices tend to be lowest about 101 days before departure.

If you are planning a vacation to Disney World during the holidays, you will not be the only one. According to Google, Orlando is the top-searched destination on Google flights for Thanksgiving, and the number two most searched for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. It is no secret that Disney World is crowded during the holidays, but booking your flight at the right time can help you save money!

While the holidays are one of the busiest times in Disney World, they are also a very special time to visit! You can still have an amazing vacation even with all the crowds. Know your top priorities and set reasonable expectations for what you are hoping to get done each day. Plan for breaks and make some dining reservations to break up your days. Most of all though, enjoy all the decorations and festivities! Disney World looks beautiful for the holidays!
