The casting call, posted through Cast It Talent, is for children who will be aged 9 – 11 in April 2025. The main characters of “Harry Potter” are about 11 years old in the first novel.

The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2024. Filming is scheduled for 2025 and 2026 in the UK. Of course, if the show is as successful as expected, it will continue filming for seven seasons.

The synopsis is simply: “An upcoming HBO Original series adaptation of ‘Harry Potter’, produced by HBO.”

Kids auditioning must submit two videos. The first should be 30 seconds maximum. They should prepare a short poem or story from a favorite book, a monologue from a play, or something they have created. What they prepare should not be from “Harry Potter.”

In the second video, the actors should talk about themselves, including their date of birth, height, and where they live, as well as describe a close family member, friend, or pet.

Talent is asked to use their own accent and wear whatever they feel comfortable in.

In the “Harry Potter” films, the “Golden Trio” of Harry, Ron, and Hermione were portrayed by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson.

The new HBO Original “Harry Potter” series is planned as a faithful seven-season adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series. It was changed from a Max Original to an HBO Original earlier this year when the creative team was announced.
