Peter Renaday, Original Voice of Henry from Country Bear Jamboree and More, Passes Away

Peter Renaday, an American voice actor who provided the voice to many Disney attractions over the years — including Henry the M.C. from the original Country Bear Jamboree — has passed away. He was 88 years old.

Voice actor Peter Renaday has passed away at the age of 88. He was best known as the voice of the original Henry the M.C. and Max for the Country Bear Jamboree, but has many credits across theme park and entertainment history.

The news was initially shared via a post on Facebook from a member of Renaday’s family.

Among those, he was the voice of Abraham Lincoln in The Hall of Presidents at Magic Kingdom from 1993 to 2008; was Captain Nemo in the former 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage at Magic Kingdom; the Captain on Sailing Ship Columbia at Disneyland Park; The Narrator in The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Park, and Hong Kong Disneyland; the Narrator of the Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover from 1994 to 2009; Space Ranger from Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland Park; and the announcer for the Astro Orbitor at Magic Kingdom.

Renaday also provided voice work for Flight to the Moon and Mission to Mars at both Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom.

Renaday also had acting and voice acting credits in a number of Disney films, including “The Love Bug,” “The Aristocats,” “The Shaggy D.A.,” “The Cat from Outer Space,” “The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again,” “The Devil and Max Devlin,” “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” and “Mulan.” He also starred in “Lt. Robin Crusoe,” “The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes,””The Million Dollar Duck,” and “The Cat from Outer Space” while leading the script morgue at the Disney Studio, per D23.
