The Walt Disney Company Wins Record-Breaking 60 Emmy Awards

The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards aired last night, The Walt Disney Company took home a record-breaking 60 awards across its studios and brands.

Disney and its content brands, studios, and platforms were recognized with a record-breaking 186 nominations for this year’s Emmy Awards.

FX took home the most wins for any of Disney’s studios or brands, including this year’s most-winning series. It also has the most wins in FX history. S”hōgun” won 19 awards, setting a new Television Academy record for any series in a year, and making it the most-winning series. “The Bear” won 11 awards, breaking its previous record for most wins in a comedy series.

Anna Sawai won Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in “Shōgun,” making Sawai the first actor of Asian descent to win this honor.

Liza Coló-Zayas won Outstanding Supporting Actress for her performance in “The Bear,” making her the first Latina to win this award.

“Jim Henson Idea Man” won the most awards for a documentary when it secured five wins, including Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Program.

Disney’s streaming platforms won 50 awards for Hulu and nine for Disney+.

The Walt Disney Studios received four awards, for 20th Century Studios’ “Quiz Lady” and “The Beach Boys,” as well as Lucasfilm’s “Ahsoka” and Marvel Studios’ “What if…? An Immersive Story.”
