As we said, we wanted to go over everything we currently know about these 3 new Adults-Only spaces that will be coming to the Disney Treasure Cruse Ship, the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the Periscope Pub, and Skipper Society, so let’s dive right in!

Haunted Mansion Parlor

About the Haunted Mansion Parlor, Disney shared, “Foolish mortals will sip spirited craft cocktails among 999 happy haunts for the first time” at this one-of-a-kind experience.

Visitors will “partake in the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion, focused on the story of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé.” A custom music piece inspired by the original attraction score has been arranged and adapted by composer Shruti Kumar for this experience!

©Disney

Walt Disney Imagineering has also created “an ever-escalating anthology of illusions that immerses guests into the mysterious lore of the Haunted Mansion.” So, expect to see iconic characters from Haunted Mansion attractions around the world along with new haunts. This will be an immersive experience with a story played on 30-minute loops — and we know we’ll get to see Madame Leota and hear the Ghost Host!

The style of the Haunted Mansion Parlor takes inspiration from a first-class drawing room from classic cruise liners of the golden age, plus the original attraction featuring a “nautical twist.” You’ll feel right at home with the iconic purple wallpaper and a very familiar armchair and clock.

Here’s what we know about some of the drinks that you can check out:

First up, blood orange and sour cherry flavors will harmonize in a shimmering zero-proof cocktail served in a specialty mug aptly titled, Sympathetic Libations.

The Ghoulish Delight will be an ube-flavored treat that everyone will be able to enjoy. The drink, with hints of sweetness and nuttiness, will incorporate decadent ube fudge, oat milk, and tapioca pearls in a purple concoction garnished with a gummy eyeball and ube glitter.

A spooky twist on a classic margarita, presented to guests amidst a swirl of flavored smoke, will be another signature drink at the Haunted Mansion Parlor. Topped with lemon salt foam, this tequila-based cocktail will contain a secret message, only to be revealed by black light.

Next, let’s talk about some of the merchandise that will be available and exclusive to the Disney Treasure!

The Haunted Mansion Parlor Music Box will be a keepsake inspired by the eerie music box that will play a melodic soundtrack inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor. As the rumors go, this mysterious box belonged to the captain’s bride-to-be and only opens in the presence of malevolent spirits.

Honoring the memorable grandfather clock seen in the original Disney Parks attraction, the Haunted Parlor Mantle Clock will loom over the fireplace inside the venue, instigating mysterious happenings when it strikes 13. As a part of the new merchandise collection, Disney Cruise Line guests will be able to bring home their very own mantle clock, just like the one from the parlor.

Featuring the same octopus design from the bar’s entrance onboard the Disney Treasure, the Haunted Mansion Parlor Sculpted Mug will depict an aura of intrigue and will be accented with a variety of sea life, including a hidden Mickey Mouse-shaped barnacle.

Speaking of mugs, Disney also released some concept art for specialty Tiki Mugs featuring some of the characters in the lounge! Here’s The Bride

…and the Mariner Ghost!

These ceramic mugs will look like they are “carved from the worn wooden planks of a ghost ship,” Disney says.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor Mirror will allow guests to take home a piece of the magic, offering a ghoulish surprise to unsuspecting users when the hitchhiking ghosts mysteriously appear.

Now, let’s talk about some of the decor we’ll find in the parlor. First, we’ve got the Ghost Fish Aquarium. Legend has it was owned by a former sea captain. He was last seen headed to have dinner with his bride, but they vanished! All that remained was his hat, which was founding floating in this ghost fish aquarium.

©Disney

The inspiration for this ghostly aquarium came from an idea that was originally proposed for the original Haunted Mansion attraction in Disneyland. During the ride’s development, famous Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump proposed a creative concept for a “Museum of the Weird” exhibit. While many of his initial ideas made it into the attraction, some of the concepts remained in the vault — including a mysterious aquarium, filled with ghost fish.

Rolly’s initial sketch was referenced by Imagineers working on the Disney Treasure to create this Ghost Fish Aquarium for the Haunted Mansion Parlor!

On top of all of that, Rolly Crump himself will also be honored in the parlor with a bust! There are some portraits that will hang in the Haunted Mansion Lounge. Here’s a portrait of the Captain, in his living, mortal form…

…and the Mariner Ghost. (You can also find this portrait in the Haunted Mansions at both Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland.)

©Disney

Disney gave us a sneak peak at some special effects in the lounge. For example, let’s look at this portrait of The Bride dressed in her wedding gown and holding her wedding flowers. The Captain found his bride-to-be when he answered a distress call from another vessel. When he arrived she was the lone survivor of the shipwreck.

©Disney

But there’s a second portrait of this beauty…and she’s changed. Is she a sea monster? A mermaid? And those flowers in her hand…were they concealing an ax?! Disney says her portrait will flicker — revealing her true essence, just like the portraits inside the Haunted Mansion attractions.

We also got our first look at the costumes that will be worn in the Haunted Mansion Parlor. As you can see, these differ from those worn at the attraction in Disney World and Disneyland. The skeleton keys are filled with Easter eggs — and you will see different versions of the keys on different Cast Members’ outfits. FUN. The best is inspired by the lining inside one of Haunted Mansion’s coffins.

Costumes!

Here’s a closer look at those costumes.

We can’t wait to see and learn even more about this parlor, and for sure we’ll keep you updated.

Periscope Pub

The new Periscope Pub is going to become Disney Cruise Line’s first venue inspired by the adventure of Disney’s 1954 film, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Also, there was also a Disney Parks attraction that was open at Walt Disney World from 1971 to 1994.

©Disney

The atmosphere is inspired by a submarine with “19th-century steampunk influences.” There will be “a mysterious window into the mythical depths of the uncharted oceans” spanning the full ceiling!

©Disney

You’ll want to head to the Periscope Pub for craft brews, light snacks, sports on the TVs, and you’ll see some nods to a certain giant squid.

Now, about the costumes for the Periscope Pub, these might look a little familiar because they’re an upscale version of the original 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea ride: note the “N” piece from the ride that was modified into a “P” for the Periscope Pub. We love this throwback.

Here’s a closer look at the costumes for Periscope Pub.

We’re keeping our eyes peeled for the latest about this pub, so you can bet we’ll keep you posted on everything we learn about it!

Skipper Society

Lastly, let’s talk about Skipper Society. This will be the FIRST ever Jungle Cruise-themed bar and lounge on a cruise ship. This punny lounge will be located just off the grand hall aboard the ship. You’ll be able to get drinks and snacks here, which will be served by Cast Members who truly take on the role of Skipper and provide comical entertainment. In the concept art, you can see the low-hanging canvas ceilings, which makes the space feel more intimate.

©Disney

Disney noted that the decor is inspired by the Jungle Cruise attractions at both Disney World and Disneyland. From the Disneyland ride, Imagineers gained inspiration from the “flora and fauna sprouting around Jungle Cruise,” which “gives guests the sense that they are sailing in waterways around the globe.” As a nod to this, the Skipper Society will be full of plants that are the same foliage species as those in Disneyland.

Disneyland Jungle Cruise

Imagineers also took inspiration from the green and red architecture of the Jungle Cruise in Magic Kingdom. Those colorful tones will be found throughout the lounge, especially depicted on the walls, which are painted “the exact color” to match the Jungle Cruise attraction marquee in Disney World.

Jungle Cruise

You’ll want to pay close attention to the travel stickers on the vintage-style luggage behind the bar as they will represent various locations depicted inside the Jungle Cruise attraction, including that 8th wonder of the world, the Backside of Water!

©Disney

Another important feature of the lounge is the music. Disney stated that “guests will hear familiar music playing in the venue, including spiels from the Jungle Cruise attractions around the world!” They said, “You’ll hear Skipper voices from across the globe and in various languages such as English, Dutch, French, Cantonese, and more.”

Skipper Society

Another important thing to note is that Skipper Society is going to have “a jungle boat name of its own,” according to Disney! The lounge’s boat name is “Ems Empress,” named after the Ems River “where the Disney Treasure will make her first voyage to sea.” You’ll be able to spot the “Ems Empress” sign inside the lounge.
