Disney Experiencing Company-Wide Payment Issues at Disney Parks and Disney Store

DisneyStore.com, The My Disney Experience for Disney World, and the Disneyland Apps cannot currently take payments. Guests can’t book Lightning Lanes, use Mobile Checkout, or use Mobile Food Orders. DisneyStore.com is also experiencing technical difficulties this morning.

DisneyStore.com

A Disney Store webpage with a search bar displaying the query "munchlings" and a red error message indicating a checkout issue.

This morning when visiting the DisneyStore.com website we received an error message at the top of the website. “There’s currently an issue with checkout, but feel free to browse while we fix the issue.” This will only be a temporary issue that Disney is actively trying to resolve.

My Disney Experience App

When our reporter arrived at Walt Disney World this morning they received a similar popup message on the My Disney Experience Application on their mobile phone. The message reads, “Pardon the Inconvenience – Some of our payment options are unavailable, and only PayPal is available at this time in select flows. We’re actively working to resolve this issue. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The My Disney Experience App has streamlined many things in the park including Lightning Lanes, mobile orders, and mobile checkout.

Our reporter continued into the My Disney Experience App to see if only a few options were affected or if it was the entire payment system and continually got this pop-up with the same verbiage originally seen when the app was opened.

A loading screen with a spinning icon and the text "Loading" and "Retrieving Out Details" in the background.

When trying to use mobile checkout in the parks we were met with a spinning wheel and eventually, the page would error out.

At no point was any charge taken due to the payment system being down.

A screenshot of an order summary showing an original price of $6.49, a 20% discount, resulting in a subtotal of $5.19 plus $0.34 tax, for a total of $5.53. A "Something Went Wrong" error message is displayed at the bottom.

When our reporter tried to use mobile order the same spinning wheel then an error message would occur.

The same issues are happening to the Disneyland App as well. This payment issue has affected almost all of Disney’s Northern American payment systems this morning.
