Muppets Lab Photo Op Returns to The Odyssey at EPCOT

The Muppets Lab photo op is back at The Odyssey a month after it was removed from the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival.

The EPCOT exhibit room, designed with a Muppets Lab theme, features a large screen displaying character images alongside caution tape, lab equipment, and educational posters on science—creating an ideal photo op for visitors.

When the 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival began on August 29, 2024, a detailed photo op debuted at The Muppets Brew-Wing Lab in The Odyssey. However, less than 72 hours after becoming available to the public, the photo op was removed after reports of unsupervised children wrecking the props.

Now, one month after closing, the photo op is back with one major change: Thematic stanchions now surround the entire thing. These yellow and black protective items were not there in August.

A lab setup labeled "EPCOT Muppet Labs" features various scientific equipment, beakers, and colorful lab tools, with a poster on taste testing providing the perfect photo op.

The photo op features three main displays. The center display is a large lab table. A “Muppets Labs” logo with Beaker and Dr. Bunsen Honeydew is on the front. On top of the table is plenty of lab equipment, cameras, and a display case full of food. You’ll also see Dr. Bunsen Honeydew’s glasses on a stand. A trash can full of garbage sits in front of the table.

Explore the science exhibit featuring Muppets Lab elements with a vintage computer, test tubes, and petri dishes. Snap a photo op against the blue geometric wall background, and don't miss the red liquid labeled "explosive" displayed in a case reminiscent of EPCOT's imaginative flair.

To the left of the center table is another lab table. On it is an old computer monitor, numerous vials, and other lab equipment. In the center, a head of lettuce sits on top of an upside-down spaghetti strainer hooked up to red wires. A glass case with a red warning sign that reads “Explosive” houses a cupcake that has, well, you guessed it, exploded

Stickers on a metallic surface feature "LIVE LAUGH MEEP" and "The Muppets 70 Years," reminiscent of the whimsical world of the Muppets Lab Photo Op at EPCOT, with a red "EXPLOSIVE" sign boldly displayed above.

On the side of the “Explosive” case, there are two stickers. One celebrates 70 years of The Muppets, and the other says, “live laugh meep.”

A chalkboard filled with playful science experiments and whimsical illustrations, reminiscent of the Muppets Lab, features handwritten notes on thyme travel, photosynthesis salad, and sparkling water electrolysis.

The final display is a large green chalkboard with some scientific and some not-so-scientific drawings on it. Buffalo wings are stuck to the board, and half of a banana sticks out of graph paper featuring an image of the pickle milkshake.
