As of this afternoon, the storm that has formed in the Gulf of Mexico is Hurricane Milton. Sustained winds of 80 mph were reported at 2:00 p.m. EDT.

At 11:00 a.m. today, the path of Hurricane Milton was adjusted southward by the National Hurricane Center. It’s still too early to know the exact path of the storm, but meteorologists project that it will make landfall around Tampa on Wednesday. Because of this, Orange County, the home to both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort is under a State of Emergency.

Earlier today, Walt Disney World released an official public statement in which they reported that they are operating normally until further notice. Despite this statement, hotel reservations have been paused, and all theme park reservations are blocked for Wednesday, October 9.
