With Hurricane Milton now a Category 4 storm and projected to hit the Walt Disney World Resort area this Thursday, Disney has announced numerous closures to hotels across Walt Disney World property.
Walt Disney World Announces Hotel Closures for Hurricane Milton
Disney released the following statement regarding closures at Walt Disney World Resort.
We are closely monitoring the path of the projected storm, and the safety of our Guests and Cast Members remains our top priority. Walt Disney World Resort is currently operating under normal conditions and will continue to be on Tuesday, Oct. 8. Looking ahead, we are making adjustments based on the latest weather forecast and some areas with unique environments.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, the Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will temporarily close beginning at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and the Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa are likely to remain closed until Sunday, Oct. 13
The Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge will likely reopen on Friday, Oct. 11.
A State of Emergency was issued for Walt Disney World on Saturday, October 5, when Milton was still categorized as a tropical storm. Milton was classified as a hurricane on Sunday, October 6. At the time of publishing, Milton is currently a Category 4 hurricane.
Walt Disney World has paused hotel reservations for Wednesday, October 9 and Thursday, October 10. Park reservations are also blocked out for October 9 for guests to visit. and Walt Disney World has waived hotel cancelation and change fees for guests who have to change their plans due to the incoming storm.
