If you’ve been following the Disneyland Resort news, then you probably heard about Lightning Lane Premier Pass. This new offering will be a different way to access Lightning Lanes in the two parks, and it will roll out on October 23rd, 2024.

Its initial launch will be a bit of “testing” phase for Disney, and there will be a limited amount of Lightning Lane Premier Pass purchases available each day. Through the end of the year, Premier Pass will cost $400 per person, per day. When 2025 starts, the prices will vary by date but will remain in the $300-$400 range.

Lightning Lanes

So why is it so expensive, when Lightning Lane Multi Pass will still be available and it starts at $32 per person, per day? Well, the key difference here is that with Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you have to use the Disneyland app to book and schedule your Lightning Lane return times and you can only make one selection at a time. However, with Lightning Lane Premier Pass, you won’t need to book anything.

No more scheduling to enter the Lightning Lanes!

Premier Pass will work similarly to how some other theme parks offer skip-the-line services (like Express Pass at Universal). With the purchase of Premier Pass, you’ll only need to walk up to any of the available Lightning Lane entrances at any point throughout the day, then scan at the tapstile to enter. No booking in advance, no app use.

Matterhorn Lightning Lane

Premier Pass will be available at all the Lightning Lane entrances in both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, so you can visit both parks on the same day. It also includes Lightning Lane Single Pass entrances, which are typically a separate individual cost to access. However, the big catch here is that you can only enter each Lightning Lane one time per day, so it’s not unlimited Lightning Lane access.

Ultimately, this sounds like a bit more of a luxury service, for those who want the convenience of just being able to walk up and get in line. We’ll be interested to see how it works in the parks, and we’ll make sure to report back on launch day. Stay tuned to DFB for more!
