After lengthy delays, The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers has opened at Walt Disney World. After several private previews, the bakery soft opened on Thursday, October 24. The bakery and restaurant are expected to fully open on Friday, October 25.
The franchise has two locations in Indiana — one in Carmel and one in Indianapolis. The new venue at Disney’s BoardWalk is the first outside of Indiana. It was announced in 2022 to replace ESPN Club and originally slated to open in 2023. The opening was later delayed to 2024.
The Cake Bake Shop is located at the end of the boardwalk, nearest EPCOT and the Sea Breeze Point wedding gazebo. It’s next door to BoardWalk Ice Cream.
The Cake Bake Shop Bakery
Guests can walk into the bakery and purchase a selection of sweets to go, including cakes, cookies, French macarons, brownies, dessert bars, pies, and cheesecakes. The Cake Bake Shop logo is in gold on the floor of the bakery entrance.
The Cake Bake Shop merchandise is also available for purchase in the bakery. The merchandise displays take up the front of the space while bakery cases are at the back. There are golden wire shopping baskets available.
The bakery side is relatively small. The walls, shelving, and cabinets are all white wood. Golden stanchions hold up pink velvet ropes for the queue.
A window looks in on the lobby of the restaurant with white and gray seating.
Owner Gwendolyn Rogers was at the bakery for opening. She hung every crystal from the chandeliers and set up the merchandise.
A sign at the end of the queue before the bakery cases instructs guests to wait for the next available team member.
The baked goods are behind glass on marble countertops.
The Cake Bake Shop Bakery Menu
The restaurant and bakery have separate menus, though there is some crossover. After a viral outcry about the pricey original menu, The Cake Bake Shop lowered many prices. The menus are posted outside but there are also hand-held menus for guests waiting in line to peruse.
The bakery offers pies, cheesecake, french pastries, homemade fudge, chocolate truffles, cakes, cookies, dessert bars, breakfast cakes, croissants, homemade ice cream and sorbet, coffee, milk, hot chocolate, tea, juice, soda, champagne, wine, and beer. There is a Frose Rosé served in a souvenir rose gold goblet for $39.99.
