More Snow & Icicle Lights Added to Sleeping Beauty Castle, Holiday Decor in New Orleans Square

Disneyland is continuing to prepare for the 2024 holiday season. More snow has been added to Sleeping Beauty Castle and holiday decor is up in New Orleans Square.

Sleeping Beauty Castle Snow

The first snow caps were installed on the castle turrets by mid-October. The fake snow now covers most of the turrets and roof tops. The set dressing is designed to look like patches of white snow with some of the blue roofing showing through.

Icicle lights also now hang from many of the battlements, dangling down over the castle walls. During the day, the lights just look like silver icicles, but at night during the winter, they light up.

The castle is also usually decorated with garland and a large wreath, which will likely be installed soon. The Halloween decorations on Main Street, U.S.A. will also be replaced with holiday decor.

Christmas in New Orleans Square

New Orleans Square has breezed right past Halloween and is all decked out for Christmas. Garlands hang from the balconies throughout the land. Each facade has unique adornments, so it appears they’ve been decorated by their individual owners.

Other garlands feature more traditional Christmas colors of red and green. Large ornaments hang below some of the balconies, over shop entryways. There are wreaths full of ornaments on doors.

This balcony features purple and gold banners over the columns. Instead of a green leafy garland, this garland is made of colorful ornaments. Music notes hang from the garland and instruments are where the garland connects to the columns, matching the musical theme of the balcony’s usual props.

Eudora’s Chic Boutique is decorated with garlands and wreaths above the entryway. The tunnel next to the “Princess and the Frog” gift shop has some leafy decorations in the corners.

Speaking of angels: a golden angel statue is on this balcony, behind garland full of gold ornaments. Large gold tassels hang from the ends of the garland.

More garland, wreaths, and other decorative items adorn the rest of the facades.

The trees are decorated, too. Outside Tiana’s Palace, this tree is strung with large gold stars and a gold crescent moon figure.
